Uttarakhand: CM Dhami flagged off the team of students participating in Bharat Darshan Educational Tour 2023.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday flagged off the group of students participating in the Bharat Darshan Educational Tour 2023, organized for the students who have performed excellently in the Class 10 Council Examination 2023 of Vidhan Sabha Devprayag, at the Chief Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. While congratulating the students going on India tour, the Chief Minister praised the wonderful initiative of MLA Devprayag Vinod Kandari and said that he has started the tradition of providing an opportunity to middle and lower class students to visit India. The Chief Minister announced that in future, the state government will organize educational tours for topper students of every block of the state. The Chief Minister said that this Bharat-Darshan program will awaken a special feeling in the students, through which they will be able to personally know the diversity of India, history, science, etiquette and nature and will develop the tendency to live in a group, the ability to become a hero and self-confidence. And the feeling of brotherhood will be strong among them.
He said that this tour program is a part of education, which will increase the bookish knowledge of the students. This tour will provide a golden opportunity to the students to gain practical knowledge. Because imparting knowledge through practical experience makes learning more interesting. Practical knowledge is better than bookish knowledge, according to a research article, about 65 percent of students prefer visual learning aids. These learners prefer to see how things are done rather than just talking about them. They prefer to watch demonstrations rather than lectures, because seeing is believing.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that when you see something personally your perspective changes. The true study of humanity can be done only through the study of human beings. During the trip, you will come in contact with elite people, different types of people, you will visit historical and scenic places, if you keep a watchful eye on the windows and doors of heart and mind. If you travel keeping everything open, you will gain so much practical knowledge of people and events which you cannot get in any book.
The Chief Minister said that traveling is also very important for the healthy development of the brain. Kavindra Tagore says that the health of the mind cannot be improved by studying selected books or in the static classrooms of a walled school. Traveling will broaden your perspective and bring generosity in your thoughts and outlook. This will work as a wondrous stress reliever for Bharat Darshan students.
The Chief Minister said that this visit will impact the best behavior of the students on their school also. Which will indirectly teach them discipline and control. Visiting a site often results in the transfer of new information. Sometimes, some data which is not included in the textbook, such omitted data can be obtained directly from the excursion site, which will give you more value. Seeing, touching and experiencing an academic concept live improves memory power.
The Chief Minister said that in the new education policy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a holistic approach to education is being provided by providing practical learning experience to the students. Educational tours and excursions have been included in the curriculum. Modern industries today emphasize the need for educational institutions to compulsorily include tours in the curriculum. He expressed confidence that this practical demonstration will lead to all-round development of the students which is also the main objective of today’s education. And one benefit of this visit will also be that it will make you curious and thirsty for more knowledge on the subject.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that students will have to develop a sense of leadership in their field in future. For this you have to move forward with determination without any option. If any work is done with a good and true heart, success in it is certain. Our great people, who have journeyed from ordinary to extraordinary, have progressed from ordinary surroundings. Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is an example of this. His life is an inspiration for us. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also an example of this, who increased India’s respect in the world by leading the country in various fields. The successful organization of G-20 has introduced the world to the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The Chief Minister said that this is the golden period in the lives of students. By making good use of it they will definitely be successful in achieving their goals.
On this occasion, MLA Vinod Kandari said that it is his endeavor to take the meritorious students of his Legislative Assembly to visit India. He said that this tour program has been organized from 23 to 29 September, 2023. He also termed this program being organized in the interest of students as his good fortune. District Panchayat President Tehri Mrs. Sona Sajwan and students were present in the program.
