Madhya Pradesh: ‘I would rather die before asking for anything for myself…’ Shivraj Singh Chauhan said in his farewell speech from CM House

Outgoing Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan called a press conference at his residence on Tuesday. Journalists asked why you had said that you would not go to Delhi after winning the elections? In response, Shivraj said that it is better to die before asking for anything.
In fact, after BJP got a landslide victory in the assembly election results on December 3, the stalwarts of the state had camped in Delhi with the desire for the post of Chief Minister. When a question was asked in this context, Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said not to go to Delhi.
When asked about this, today again Shivraj said, “One thing I say with humility is that I would prefer to die before going to ask for something for myself, that is why I had said that I will not go to Delhi.”
Before starting the press conference, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, the BJP government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will complete the incomplete works and Madhya Pradesh will reach new heights in terms of progress. I will always support Mohan Yadav. Today there is a feeling of satisfaction in my mind. In 2003, the BJP government was formed with an overwhelming majority under the leadership of Uma ji. I later led the same government. In 2008 we again brought back the government, in 2013 again the BJP government was formed with an overwhelming majority. Even in 2018, BJP got more votes, but we lagged behind in the mathematics of seats. But later we formed the government again. Today, when I am bidding farewell from here, I am satisfied that in 2023, BJP government has been formed again with an overwhelming majority.
My heart is full of satisfaction because due to the tireless work of lakhs of workers and the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, due to the welfare schemes of the Center and the State, in which the contribution of Ladli Behna Yojana is tremendous, this government was formed.
I am also satisfied that we inherited backward and sick Madhya Pradesh. We have covered a long distance for development and progress. During these years, I worked for the development of the state with all my might and strength.
