Uttar Pradesh: BJP MLA Ramdular Gond guilty of raping a minor, sent to jail, punishment announced on December 15

Ramdular Gond, BJP MLA from Duddhi in Sonbhadra district of UP, was convicted by the MP/MLA court on Tuesday in the case of rape of a minor. On the orders of the court, the MLA was taken into judicial custody and sent to jail. The court will now pronounce sentence on December 15. Nine years ago, a case was registered against Ramdular Gond in Mayorpur police station. He was the Prime Minister at that time.
According to the prosecution, on November 4, 2014, Ramdular Gond raped a village girl. When the girl’s family came to know about this, the victim’s brother lodged a complaint in Mayorpur police station. The police registered a case under the POCSO Act and presented the file in the court. After a long hearing, on Friday, advocates Satyaprakash Tiwari and Vikash Shakya from the prosecution presented evidence against Duddhi MLA Ramdular Gond. Advocate Ramvriksh Tiwari presented arguments on behalf of the MLA.
After hearing the lawyers of both the sides, the court had fixed December 12 as the date of verdict. After lunch on Tuesday, Additional Sessions Judge Ehsanullah Khan, while hearing the case, declared MLA Ram Dular Gond guilty. The court will now pronounce sentence on December 15. On the other hand, immediately after the court’s decision, the MLA was detained and sent to jail.
