Uttarakhand: Farmers locked the office of Sugarcane Development Committee, warned of violent agitation
Angry farmers protested by locking out the Libberhedi Sugarcane Development Committee. Farmers alleged rigging in the slips.
On Tuesday, the farmers demonstrated and warned that if the slips are rigged and the price of sugarcane is not declared soon, then the farmers will be forced to take to the streets.
Garhwal division president of Bharatiya Kisan Union Tikait, Sanjay Choudhary reached Libberhedi Sugarcane Development Committee along with the farmers and locked out the committee.
Sanjay Chaudhary said that the slips are being rigged. Despite money coming, it is not being given to the farmers nor is the price of sugarcane being declared.
Sanjay Chaudhary said that if the problems of farmers are not resolved soon, thousands of farmers will be forced to protest.
