Zimbabwe announces squad for Sri Lanka tour, Craig Erwin returns

Zimbabwe Cricket announced the squad on 1 January, confirming that Craig Ervine would lead the ODI team while Sikandar Raza would lead the T20I format. Veteran all-rounder Sean Williams will not be on the tour after suffering an injury in Harare recently while Wesley Madhevere has been ruled out after being suspended by the cricket board for anti-doping violation.
Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Milton Shumba and Tony Munyonga have retained their places in the 50-over squad after being named in the series against Ireland. Meanwhile uncapped Tapiwa Mufudza has been called up after impressing in the Pro50 Championship 2023, where he was the leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets.
