Uttarakhand: Administration busy in preparations for Chardham Yatra 2024, Garhwal Commissioner took meeting, 4 thousand policemen will be deployed

The administration is seen in action to conduct the Chardham Yatra 2024 in an organized and better manner. In fact, today Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey held a meeting with officials of all departments related to the yatra in the auditorium of Rishikesh Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, the responsibility has been handed over to the officials to improve all the arrangements. At the same time, if the responsibility is not followed, then strict action will be taken against the said officers. The meeting mainly focused on proper arrangements of roads, parking, toilets, health, drinking water and lighting. Besides, feedback was also taken from the officials regarding the arrangements given during the stay and registration of the passengers.

Additional doctors and pharmacists will be deployed on the yatra route

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that instructions have been given to the Health Department to deploy additional doctors and pharmacists on the Yatra route. Also, instructions have been given to the police to manage the crowd of passengers coming during the journey and to the RTO to ensure that there is no shortage of buses during the journey. He said that BRO and PWD have been given the responsibility to make the roads pothole free. Like last year, the IRCTC website will be authorized to book tickets for heli service this time too.

It is mandatory for passengers to register

Vinay Shankar Pandey said that it will be mandatory for the passengers coming on the yatra route to register, for this many types of platforms have been made available to the passengers. During registration, important numbers of various departments will also be made available to the passengers. At present, immediate budget has been made available for making arrangements in districts Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Dehradun. The remaining demand has been sought. He said that instructions have been given to all the departments to conduct the Yatra better by establishing mutual coordination.

Police PRD and Home Guard personnel will also be deployed

IG Karan Singh Nagnial said that more than four thousand police, PRD and Home Guard personnel will be deployed on the Yatra route for the security of Chardham Yatra. Additionally, additional policemen will be deployed at the Bottle Neck of Rishikesh, the entry gate of the Yatra. He said that instructions have been given to the traffic inspector to make arrangements from now on so that people do not have to struggle with the jam.
