Uttarakhand / Roorkee: Father-in-law imposed restrictions on leaving the house, when daughter-in-law protested, he beat her

A woman resident of Roorkee has accused her father-in-law of restricting her from going out of the house and assaulting her. The woman reached the police station and requested the police for help.

A woman resident of a colony located in Ganganahar Kotwali area has filed a complaint with the police regarding the matter. The woman told that her husband works outside the city. The woman told that even when she goes out of the house to buy vegetables, her father-in-law imposes restrictions. Apart from this, even if she talks to the neighbours, he denies it.
Daughter-in-law beaten up for protesting
The victim alleged that her father-in-law doubts her character and has imposed restrictions on her even going out of the house. The woman told that on Sunday morning she was going out for some work. On this his father-in-law stopped him from going out of the house. When she protested, her father-in-law even beat her.
Investigation into the case continues
The victim woman has demanded the police to take action against her father-in-law. Regarding the matter, Kotwali in-charge Govind Kumar said that the matter is being investigated on the basis of the complaint. Further action will be taken after the allegations are confirmed.
