Delhi: Posing as traffic police, he used to lift the car in front of his eyes, he had taken a crane on hire

South West District Police has busted a vicious gang of thieves. One thief would wear a traffic police uniform, the other would become the driver of a crane to tow the vehicle and then they would openly take away the expensive car citing wrong parking or any law. The name of the accused caught is Vikas. Apart from Vikas, two scrap dealers have also been arrested. Where these vehicles were cut and the parts were sold.

In fact, a person resident of Vasant Kunj B Block complained in the police station that on May 15, a young man dressed as Delhi Traffic Police lifted his Toyota car with a crane. The vehicle was not found in the police station. After this the police formed a team to catch the accused.

DCP Southwest District Rohit Meena told. When the route of the crane was continuously scanned from the place where the car was stolen, investigation revealed that the stolen car had been left with a scrap dealer in Kanjhawala. When the police caught the driver of the crane after identifying him, it was found that a young man had booked the crane by posing as a traffic policeman. It was also told that after towing, he had left the car at the warehouse of a scrap dealer in Kanjhawala.

After this the police team raided Kanjhawala area and arrested Mahendra. Delhi Police found only the body of the car from Mahendra’s warehouse, because he had sold its parts separately.

During interrogation, Mahendra told that this car was stolen from him and sold by Ajay, a resident of Kusumpur Pahari. After this the police team reached Kusumpur Pahari and arrested 29 year old Ajay from there. Police also recovered the traffic police uniform from Ajay, wearing which he used to pick up the cars of common people.

Modes Operandi
Accused Ajay is very clever. First of all, through the application from RTO, he would find out which number of vehicles are junk, then he would find out their location. After theft he used to sell the car to Mahendra. Then Mahendra used to sell the car parts to Roshan. The police have arrested all three.

Mastermind ajay
29 year old Ajay was the mastermind of this entire scam. Actually, Ajay had opened a GYM by taking a loan from his friends even before COVID started. But then the lockdown was imposed and Ajay suffered huge losses. Friends then started pressurizing Ajay to return the money. During interrogation it has come to light that after this Ajay started evading taxes.

Recovery
Police have recovered parts of three cars and a bike from them. At present further investigation is going on.
