After Draupadi Ka Danda, another big accident took place on Sahastratal track, 9 people lost their lives, read how the deaths happened one by one

Sahastratal track is located in Uttarkashi district at an altitude of about 14500 feet. Out of the 22-member team that came on the track, nine trekkers died due to bad weather. On October 4, 2022, a team of 34 trainees of Nim (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering) Institute came under the grip of avalanche while climbing Draupadi Ka Danda-2 peak. In which a total of 28 people died. At the same time, two people are still missing. This included Vinay Panwar, a sailor in the Navy of Uttarakhand and Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Vashisht, a resident of Himachal.

Savita and Naomi of Uttarkashi were killed

A special campaign was launched by SDRF to search for both of them. But no trace of both has been found yet. Let us tell you that in this accident, Everest winner Savita Kanswal and mountaineer Naomi Rawat of Uttarkashi district were lost. Both were included in the team of trainees as instructors. After the news of the death of both, the families of both were in shock.\

Nine people died on Sahastratal track due to bad weather

On May 29, a 22-member team left for trekking to Sahastratal via Kush Kulyan Bugyal from Malla-Silla of Uttarkashi. On June 2, this team reached Kokhali Top Base Camp of Sahastratal. On June 3, they left for Sahastratal. There, due to sudden bad weather and fog, the trekkers got stuck there. Due to which everyone had to spend the whole night in the cold. Nine trekkers died in the accident.

SDRF rescued 13 members

Guide Rajesh told that after the death of one, the other four also died in panic. No one understood anything. Rajesh told that after the incident he walked about 18 kilometers and informed the trekking agency and association about the incident. After which the rescue started. Let us tell you that the rescue team rescued 13 members. While nine died.
