24 Uttarakhandis held hostage in Myanmar, cheated on the pretext of job, now trapped in the trap of fake call center, Dhami spoke to the Foreign Minister
Many people of the country are being kidnapped and forced to work in fake call centers running in Myanmar. 24 people from Uttarakhand have also been kidnapped to work in these call centers. All of them are being forced to work in call centers. These 24 people include 15 men and 9 women. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on the phone on Thursday. In which he has requested the safe return of the people of Uttarakhand stranded in Myanmar.
According to the information received, about 20 people were kidnapped in Thailand from different districts of Uttarakhand. After this, in the month of May, they were taken to Myanmar at gunpoint to work in the scam call center. All of them were taken to Thailand claiming to get them jobs in IT and restaurants, but later they were told that they would cheat people from all over the world who are retired and who have only pension in their name.
The CM informed about the situation while talking to the Foreign Minister on the phone. Also told that more than 15 men and nine women from Uttarakhand have been kidnapped in Myanmar’s call centers. They are being forced in Myanmar. Due to which the families of the victims are going through trouble and mental agony. This incident has also created fear among the people of Uttarakhand. In view of which CM Dhami has expected help from the Foreign Minister.
