Uttarakhand: Dehradun is the target of cyber thugs, another fake call center exposed; foreign nationals were being targeted
Rajpur police station has exposed a fake call center that was involved in cyber fraud with foreign nationals. The accused were cheating US and Canadian citizens by claiming to be senior officers of the International Anti Hacking Department. A few days ago, Rajpur police station had caught a similar gang that was cheating foreign nationals.
Young men and women come in different shifts
Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that secret information was received that a fake international call center is running on the ground floor of Cyanotic Building located in IT Park. Young men and women come to the call center in different shifts. On the basis of the complaint, SHO Rajpur PD Bhatt raided with the police party and a large number of young men and women were seen working there.
After interrogation, the police team arrested Mihir Ashwin resident of Hirabari Road Ahmedabad Gujarat, Lalit alias Rodi resident of Sahajpur Ahmedabad, Aamir Sohail resident of Jagatdal Kankinara Kolkata, Manoj Mirpuri resident of Siddharth Apartment MTNL Shanti Park Mira Road Pune, Ankit Singh resident of Sirla, Post Sarai Bihar, Kaushik Jana resident of Check Chaupat Sitala Toll Ayodhya, Shivam Dubey Ahmedabad Gujarat and Goswami Hat Bharti resident of A Plot Extension Bhavnagar Gujarat. 81 laptops, 42 mobiles have been recovered from the accused.
The SSP said that the accused used to contact foreign nationals and tell them about the system being hacked. Some members of the gang sitting abroad used to hack the system by putting pop ups and after that they used to blackmail by getting access to the mobile.
