What did Akhilesh Yadav say on the Waqf Bill that made Amit Shah angry? The atmosphere in the Parliament heated up

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday raised questions on the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha and called it an attempt at appeasement by the BJP. Akhilesh called the bill an attack on religious faith and said that the bill is being brought as part of a conspiracy. He called it against democracy. During this, Akhilesh talked about taking away the rights of the Speaker. Home Minister Amit Shah strongly objected to this statement.

Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav said that there is deep politics behind the bill brought to amend the Waqf Board. The BJP is completely desperate, disappointed. That is why it is bringing this bill to appease a few staunch supporters. After this, Akhilesh spoke about the rights of the House Speaker, on which Amit Shah stood up from his seat and said angrily that Akhilesh ji should not speak in evasive ways.

Opposing the bill, Akhilesh Yadav said, ‘This is happening under well-planned politics. If all the power is given to the District Magistrate. You know what the District Magistrate did at one place that its effect had to be borne by the coming generations. BJP is bringing this bill to appease its frustrated, disappointed and a few staunch supporters.’

During this, there was a heated debate between Akhilesh and Amit Shah. Akhilesh said to the Lok Sabha Speaker, ‘Sir, I have heard that some of your rights are also being taken away. That is why we all will have to fight for you too.’ On hearing Akhilesh’s statement, Amit Shah interrupted him and said that Speaker Sir, he (Akhilesh) is insulting the chair. Akhilesh is not the guardian of the Speaker’s rights.

During the monsoon session in Parliament, the Modi government has introduced an amendment bill in the Lok Sabha to change the Waqf Board Act. There is a ruckus in Parliament regarding this bill. The government says that the bill is being brought to take care of the Waqf properties. At the same time, the opposition has appealed to send it to the Standing Committee of Parliament. Along with SP, MPs of Trinamool Congress and National Conference opposed it.

A new bill has been brought by the central government regarding transparency in the Waqf Board. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. This bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha. As soon as this bill was tabled in the House, major opposition parties including Congress, TMC, DMK, SP opposed the bill. At the same time, JDU led by Nitish Kumar, which is part of the NDA, has supported the bill.
