Question in political circles; What is the concern of courtesy visits… series of meetings with PM Modi and Shah continues

Within the last fortnight, from Dehradun to Delhi, the meetings of BJP MPs and state government ministers, former Chief Minister and two big satraps of the Chief Minister’s party with PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are in the news. On Thursday, former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister also reached New Delhi. There is a lot of discussion about these meetings in the political circles of the state. Now this question is also echoing in the corridors of power that what is the concern of these courtesy visits. During his stay in New Delhi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had a courtesy meeting with the central leaders and the Prime Minister. A few days after his return to Doon, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat met the Prime Minister.

The pictures of Dr. Rawat’s meeting went viral on social media. A series of meetings of some ministers, MPs and former Chief Ministers of the state with the PM and the Home Minister started, which is continuing till now. Dhami government’s cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi and Subodh Uniyal have also met central leaders in New Delhi. Former CM Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank met Home Minister Shah and BJP’s National General Secretary Organization BL Santosh.

There must be some concern behind the courtesy meetings

Former Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, MP Naresh Bansal and now former CM and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat met the Prime Minister. Recently, the party MPs met the Union Home Minister. The meetings of the state’s top leaders with the PM and the Home Minister are not being considered spontaneous. Political experts believe that there is definitely some concern behind these courtesy meetings.

No one has an exact answer to the question of what it is. There are only speculations in political circles. Some are linking it to the Kedarnath assembly by-election, while others are linking it to the cabinet expansion in the state. Media persons also asked the CM a question on the cabinet expansion, which he laughed off. He said, he is going to Delhi to discuss proposals related to the state’s projects from the Union Jal Shakti Ministry.

But, in the last few days, many MLAs had a series of meetings with the CM. Some senior MLAs also met him, who are seen as contenders for the post of minister. However, the interest of politicians is limited to showing their meetings. They do not want to give a complete answer about these meetings. Former CM Tirath Singh Rawat, who has met the PM, says, many points related to politics were discussed with the PM, but what these points are, neither he nor MP Bansal nor former CM Trivendra told.

Overall, all the leaders called it a courtesy visit, but these meetings of the state’s top leaders with the most powerful leaders of the party are not being considered normal. Its political meaning is being explored according to one’s own understanding.
