More than 2600 cleanliness complexes were constructed in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami participated in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program and flagged off the cross country marathon race
Swachhata Hi Seva program is being organized across the country on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this sequence, ‘Swachhata Hi Seva-2024’ program was organized at Parade Ground on Tuesday. During this, CM Dhami participated in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva-2024’ program as well as flagged off the cross country marathon race. During the program, CM Dhami administered the oath of cleanliness to all the people present there and also planted trees in the Parade Ground premises under the campaign named ‘Ek Ped Maa’.
Wishing PM Narendra Modi on his birthday, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Prime Minister’s awareness, dedication and leadership towards cleanliness inspires everyone. Swachhata Pakhwada is being started on the occasion of PM’s birthday. In such a situation, this Swachhata Pakhwada will be concluded on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. Chief Minister Dhami said that after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, the mission of Swachh Bharat was started, due to which a sense of cleanliness arose among the people across the country.
CM Dhami said that within the last 10 years, crores of toilets were constructed across the country. Along with developing the facilities necessary for waste management, the common people were made aware about cleanliness. Uttarakhand became the fourth ODF state of the country in 2017. So far, toilets have been constructed for more than 5 lakh 37 thousand toilet-less families in the state. Also, more than 2600 cleanliness complexes have been constructed. Solid and liquid waste management work has been completed in more than 9000 villages. Plastic waste management units have been set up in 77 development blocks.
In such a situation, the government aims to start waste management work in all the villages of the state by March 2025. The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made at the level of governance and administration regarding cleanliness. But this effort will be successful only when there is public participation in it. Therefore, everyone will have to make efforts to make the village, city, locality clean at their own level. Also, we have to make it a part of our daily life. Urban Development Minister Premchand Agarwal said that the day cleanliness becomes a part of our nature, the state will also become clean. Under the Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada, more than a thousand programs are being organized across the state today.
