Uttarakhand BJP made 7 lakh new members in 14 days, know which MLA was hit and which flop in the membership campaign?
Bharatiya Janata Party had started a campaign to recruit new members across the country. It was also started in Uttarakhand on 3 September. The party had set a target that 47 MLAs of Uttarakhand will recruit 10,000 workers in their respective assembly seats. Looking at the popularity of the party, the state BJP had set this figure for its MLAs. Today, 23 September, is the 21st day of this campaign. The figures that have come out till 16 September show that many MLAs and big leaders of the party have not been able to increase the number of workers above double digits in their assembly constituency in all these days.
Uttarakhand BJP’s membership campaign: However, it is not that the party has decided this figure by looking at the face. Whether it is the assembly seat of the Chief Minister, or the assembly constituency of any other MLA, this figure was given to everyone equally. After 14 days, BJP has added more than 7 lakh workers. This claim is being made by the state president of the party Mahendra Bhatt. According to the list prepared by BJP till 16 September, Ranikhet MLA Pramod Nainwal is at the bottom of the list of MLAs who have added the least number of workers. Pramod Nainwal was able to add only 1,711 members till 16 September.
BJP’s membership campaign is very weak in these assembly constituencies: Mahesh Jeena, BJP MLA from Salt assembly constituency of Almora, was also not able to do much in adding members till 16 September. He has added only 1,977 members till now. Mahesh Negi, who contested the assembly election from Dwarahat assembly constituency, has also been able to add only 2,181 workers till now. Yamkeshwar MLA from Pauri district Renu Bisht is also still far away from her figure. She has added only 2,236 workers till now. On the other hand, MLA Shakti Lal Shah from Ghansali assembly seat of Tehri Garhwal district has been able to add only 2,311 workers. MLA Dilip Rawat from Lansdowne constituency of Pauri has been able to add only 2,390 workers so far. Membership campaign of Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal is also going slow. Minister Uniyal has been able to get only 2,488 workers enrolled in BJP from his Narendra Nagar constituency.
BJP is worried about the speed of adding workers by these MLAs: Meanwhile, MLA Sanjay Dobhal from Yamunotri constituency has been able to add only 2,980 members so far. Membership campaign is going slow in many assembly constituencies where BJP MLAs are present. So far only 3,500 members have joined BJP from Jhabreda constituency of Haridwar district. So far 3,820 members have been able to join BJP from Chakrata constituency of Dehradun district. Talking about other assembly seats, BJP MLAs have been able to add more than 4000 workers. However, BJP believes that in the coming three days the figure will reach more than 7000 for almost every MLA.
This woman MLA has made the most members: If we talk about the list, then among the MLAs who have made record-breaking workers from September 3 to September 16, Savita Kapoor, MLA from Dehradun’s Cantt assembly seat, is at the forefront. Savita has so far added more than 27,000 members to BJP. This number is almost three times the target of 10 thousand. Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik is at number two. He has so far added more than 19,000 members to BJP. Sahaspur BJP MLA Sahdev Pundir has added more than 18,600 workers to the party so far. Ranipur MLA Adesh Chauhan is also in this list. Adesh has succeeded in adding more than 15,000 workers.
The condition of membership campaign of CM Dhami and Mahendra Bhatt: The matter of concern for BJP is that there are about 10 such assembly seats, where the general public has not been able to connect with the MLAs. There is also concern in BJP about this. However, if we talk about Badrinath, the assembly seat of state president Mahendra Bhatt, then till September 16, at least 9000 people have taken membership of BJP in his assembly seat. In Champawat, the assembly seat of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, only 6,278 workers have been able to join till September 16. Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt says that we hope that this figure will reach a good number by the 25th. According to the information received from the party office, till now i.e. till September 20, 750,000 workers have been added in the entire state and their number is increasing day by day.
In view of the strength of numbers, the state president is going to do this work: The question is also arising that why the BJP, which has a full majority government, is having to struggle so much in many assembly seats. Along with the Lok Sabha elections, BJP had performed well in the state in the assembly elections. To add members and where their number is less, now state president Mahendra Bhatt is going to hold meetings at the tehsil level of every assembly constituency. For this, he will tour the whole state.
