A big accident happened with Agniveers during firing practice, 2 died due to cannonball explosion in training camp

A major accident took place in an army camp located in Nashik, Maharashtra, in which two Agniveers died a painful death. According to the information received, an artillery shell exploded during firing practice at the Artillery Center, due to which the Agniveers practicing died during treatment. The incident is being reported on Thursday afternoon. The Agniveers who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21). After this incident, once again the matter of compensation to be given to the Agniveers after their death has come into the headlines, which was raised by the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in the House after the Lok Sabha elections.

Giving information about the incident on Friday, a police officer said that this accident took place at the ‘Artillery Center’ in Nashik Road area. He said that Agniveers Gohil Vishwaraj Singh (20) and Saifat Shit (21) died in the explosion. The officer said that a team of Agniveers was firing shells from a cannon, when one shell exploded, injuring two Agniveers, after which they were taken to MH Hospital in Deolali, where they were declared dead. He said that on the basis of the complaint of Havildar Ajit Kumar, a case of accidental death has been registered in the Deolali Camp Police Station and investigation is going on.

An Agniveer also died in Rajasthan

This is not the first case of a fatal accident during practice, earlier a 24-year-old Agniveer died due to the explosion of a fire extinguisher cylinder during a fire extinguishing exercise in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. According to the police, the accident took place in Golpura Army Area of ​​​​Sever police station area and Jawan Saurabh Pal died during treatment in the hospital. Police said that the body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem. Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Jasoria said, ‘During the training camp in Bharatpur, the fire extinguisher cylinder exploded during the mock drill, due to which the soldier was injured. He died yesterday and today after the post-mortem the body was handed over to the family. ‘ Saurabh Pal (24) joined the Indian Army in 2023 under the ‘Agniveer’ scheme and he was unmarried. He was a resident of Bhakhara village in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh.
