The party says that the local unit of Congress wanted the Congress party to be a part of the government but the Congress high command was unhappy with the party’s performance in the state, so it has been decided to give ministerial posts to some people so that pressure is maintained on the local unit to strengthen the organization.

Out of 90 seats, the National Conference won 42 and Congress won 6 seats. At the same time, BJP won 29 assembly seats. Mehbooba Mufti’s party could not perform well in these elections.
