Google in trouble for showing ‘path of death’! Case also filed against four PWD engineers, major negligence exposed in investigation

In the case of the death of three youths after their car fell down from the incomplete bridge connecting Samrer of Badaun district to Faridpur of Bareilly on Sunday morning, a report has been filed against two assistant and two junior engineers of PWD and many unknown people. In the report filed in Dataganj police station of Badaun, the suspension of the named engineers is considered certain. At the same time, a complaint has also been filed against the regional manager of Google Map for showing the wrong route. However, the police have not named Google or any of its officers in the case. Some names can be added in the investigation.

On Monday, Deputy Tehsildar of Dataganj, Chhaviram, gave a complaint in the police station and told that the approach road of the bridge was washed away in September last year. Despite this, the PWD did not install strong barriers, barricading and signboards. It was closed with a thin wall, which was also broken by unknown people. Due to the absence of any barrier, Google was also showing the correct route. On this, a report has been filed against PWD Assistant Engineers Mohammad Arif and Abhishek Kumar, Junior Engineer Ajay Gangwar, Maharaj Singh and many unknown people.

This was the case

Amit Singh (38) of Agra, who runs a security agency in Gurugram, along with Ajit Kumar (30) of Farrukhabad and his cousin Nitin (30) were coming to a wedding in Bareilly Faridpur by car on Sunday. They were moving ahead with the help of Google Map. During this, they climbed on the bridge built in Dataganj tehsil of Badaun. The bridge was incomplete ahead. From here the car fell 20 feet down. All three died.

Engineers’ negligence exposed

The government has taken cognizance of the accident caused by the incomplete bridge. A report has been filed after the negligence of PWD engineers was exposed in the preliminary investigation of the administration. Also, departmental investigation has also started. The Chief Engineer of PWD has summoned the report of the case.

Chief Engineer reached the spot

Chief Engineer Ajay Kumar reached the spot on Monday morning. He apprised the departmental headquarters and government officials of the reality. Ordered the superintending engineer to conduct a departmental inquiry. Superintending engineer KK Singh took statements from the local people. He also heard the departmental engineers’ side. Saw the barricading done at four places before the bridge to prevent accidents.

Investigation is being done on these points

The superintending engineer also tried to know when the wall built to stop traffic on the bridge fell and who did it? He also questioned the engineers for not taking immediate cognizance of the wall after it fell. When was the bridge built? Since when is it incomplete? What has been done so far to complete it? He investigated on these points. He will submit his report on Tuesday. After this, further action will be taken by the government.
