Uttarakhand: Women will get priority on the vacant posts of cheap grain sellers, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya gave instructions

Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting with the officials of the Food Department on Thursday, 28 November. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on giving priority to women on the vacant posts of Sasta Galla Vendor. In the meeting, Food Minister Rekha Arya took information from the officials on the approval given earlier by the Cabinet and reviewed the instructions given earlier to the department.

In the meeting, Food Minister Rekha Arya took information about the progress of the approval of free gas refilling given earlier by the Cabinet. Apart from this, Minister Rekha Arya reviewed with the officials the government-run Salt Nutrition Scheme, the current status of ration distribution under NFSA and the issues related to dividend and freight payment of Sasta Galla Vendors.

Minister Rekha Arya said that for free gas refilling, the department has been directed to issue a government order as soon as possible and DBT the subsidy in the accounts of the beneficiaries of this scheme. Minister Rekha Arya has asked the state government to pay the transportation charges of ration contractors doing doorstep delivery under NFSA, so that the ration contractors can be paid on time and directed the officials to vest the payment amount received from the Government of India in the state government.

Apart from this, Minister Rekha Arya directed the department officials to prepare a proposal as soon as possible for the scheme related to reservation for women in the allocation for Sasta Galla vendors being made in the direction of women empowerment and to give priority to women in the vacant posts of Sasta Galla.
