Heli service expanded in Uttarakhand, Dhami said that helicopter facility will be available on other routes along with Bageshwar and Nainital, CM inaugurated it

The government is emphasizing on promoting tourism activities in Uttarakhand. Under which it is also connecting all the cities with heli services. So that more and more tourists can come. In this episode, heli service has started from Dehradun to Nainital, Bageshwar and Mussoorie as well as from Haldwani to Bageshwar. Which was inaugurated by CM Pushkar Dhami by flagging off.
Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami said that these four heli services being started under the ‘Udaan’ scheme will give impetus to tourism and economic development in the state. Better connectivity will bring positive changes in the lives of local people. Bageshwar, Nainital and Mussoorie are also important places from cultural and spiritual point of view. The natural beauty, serene valleys, lush green mountains, historical temples and rich culture of these areas attract tourists from all over the country and the world.
Nainital is famous for its picturesque lakes, famous religious places like Naina Devi Shaktipeeth and Kainchi Dham. The area of Bageshwar, located at the holy confluence of the Saryu and Gomti rivers, is known for the sacred Bagnath temple and the famous Uttarayan fair. With the start of the heli service, tourists enjoying the natural and cultural heritage of these areas will now be able to reach here more easily.
8 to 10 hour journey will now be done in 1 hour
CM Dhami said that it takes about 8 to 10 hours to reach these places from Dehradun by road. Now with the start of the heli service, this journey will be about 1 hour. In case of emergency, people living in these areas will get a lot of help. He said that PM Modi had started the Udan scheme with the aim of enabling even the common man to travel by air.
Emphasis on starting heli services from 18 heliports in Uttarakhand
This scheme has contributed significantly in strengthening air connectivity in Uttarakhand. Under which air strips and heliports have been developed in many parts of the state. Work is being done towards operating heli services from 18 heliports in Uttarakhand, out of which services have been started at 12 heliports so far.
So far these cities connected with heli service: So far important areas like Gauchar, Srinagar, Chinyalisaur, Haldwani, Munsyari, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat and Almora have been connected with these heli services. He said that heli services will not only facilitate transportation in the state. But, it will also act as a lifeline for remote and inaccessible areas in times of natural disaster.
Government trying to expand international flights
Chief Minister Dhami said that the government is trying to promote domestic flights to further strengthen air connectivity in the state. Along with this, it is also constantly trying to expand international flights with the aim of establishing Uttarakhand as a major destination globally.
3 heli services being operated under ‘Regional Connectivity Scheme’
During the launch of these heli services, CM Dhami also interacted virtually with the people traveling by helicopter. The heli service from Dehradun to Mussoorie is being operated under the ‘Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme’. Whereas, the remaining 3 heli services are being operated under the ‘Regional Connectivity Scheme’ of the Central Government.
Time and fare of operation of heli services-
- The fare from Dehradun to Nainital has been kept at Rs 4,500 per passenger. The helicopter will take off from Dehradun at 15 am and 2.25 pm. Similarly, for return from Nainital, it will fly at 9.10 am and 3.20 pm.
- The fare from Dehradun to Bageshwar has been kept at Rs 4,000 per passenger. The helicopter will take off from Dehradun at 20 am and 12.30 pm. Similarly, the return will be from Bageshwar at 11.10 am and 1.20 pm.
- The fare from Haldwani to Bageshwar has been fixed at Rs 3,500 per passenger. Flights will depart from Haldwani at 30 am and 2.45 pm. Similarly, the helicopter will fly for return from Bageshwar at 9 am and 3 pm.
- The fare from Dehradun to Mussoorie has been fixed at Rs 2,578 per passenger.
How many seats will the helicopter fly and how many days in a week?
At the same time, 5 seater helicopters will provide services between Dehradun-Mussoorie, while 7 seater helicopters will provide services for other places. Heli services from Dehradun to Bageshwar, Nainital and Haldwani to Bageshwar will operate seven days a week and twice a day. Apart from this, Mussoorie-Dehradun helicopter service will operate once a day in the first month.
