Uttar Pradesh / Muzaffarnagar: 2 friends burnt alive in car, huge explosion occurred after collision with a tree

The car of three youths returning after playing Holi at a friend’s place went out of control while trying to avoid a tractor trolley loaded with sugarcane. The car fell into a ditch on the side of the road, hit a tree and caught fire. Two youths died after being burnt alive in the car, while one was seriously injured.

This accident happened on Bhokarhedi-Sikanderpur road in Bhopa police station area at around 2 pm on Friday. 35-year-old Rajiv alias Raju son of Mewaram, 35-year-old Mainpal son of Brajpal and 34-year-old Sanjeet son of Satpal, residents of village Sikri in the area, had gone to celebrate Holi at a friend’s place in the nearby village Bahupura in a WagonR car on Friday morning.

When they were returning to Sikri village, the car went out of control while trying to avoid a tractor trolley loaded with sugarcane coming from the front on Bhokarhedi-Sikanderpur road, hit a tree and fell down from the road into a ditch and the car caught fire.

Farmers ran after hearing the loud explosion

Farmers working in the field ran after hearing the loud explosion. Seeing the flames rising from the car, a bike rider somehow pulled Sanjeet out of the car while Rajiv alias Raju and Mainpal were burnt alive. After this, a crowd gathered. Passersby took the injured Sanjeet to the district hospital and informed the fire brigade. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and extinguished the fire in the car. CO Sant Prasad Upadhyay and police station in-charge Umesh Roria along with many people from the village including Pradhan Rajendra Singh, Shravan Kumar, ASPA leader Sanjay Ravi etc. reached the spot and got both the bodies out of the car.

Who all are in the family of the deceased?

Deceased Rajiv’s family includes wife Sarita, mother Savitri, three children Prince, Priyal and four-month-old Avni, while deceased Mainpal’s family includes mother Rajbiri, wife Geeta and daughter Ginni and son Anshu. The WagonR car is said to be of deceased Raju. CO Sant Prasad Upadhyay said that the car had a CNG kit installed. Two youths died in the accident and one is injured. After postmortem, both were handed over to their relatives. Their last rites were performed in village Sikri.
