Maharashtra: ‘Uddhav forced his MPs to vote against the Wakf Bill’, Sanjay Nirupam’s big claim

Accusing Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Nirupam said that Thackeray forced his party MPs to vote against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha. Nirupam said that Thackeray called his MPs five times and instructed them to vote against the bill.
Uddhav Thackeray’s reaction on Waqf Bill and criticism of BJP
Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs voted against the bill, on which Uddhav Thackeray, in a press conference on Thursday, accused the BJP and said that the BJP’s aim is to capture Waqf land. He also said that temples, churches and gurudwaras also have land and the BJP has brought this bill only to capture the land.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule criticized
BJP’s Maharashtra chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule criticized Uddhav Thackeray, saying that he abandoned Balasaheb Thackeray’s vision and adopted the ideology of the Congress. He also claimed that Uddhav Thackeray can go to any extent for votes for the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections.

Nirupam addressed Uddhav Thackeray as ‘Muslim Hriday Samrat’. The comment was about his stand against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. Nirupam said that Balasaheb Thackeray was known as ‘Hindu Hriday Samrat’ but now Uddhav Thackeray will be known as ‘Muslim Hriday Samrat’.
Questions on Shiv Sena (UBT) and their ideology
Some leaders of the party led by Shiv Sena (UBT) questioned the ideology of the party. Sharad Shinde said that if Balasaheb Thackeray was alive today, he would have been saddened by this decision of Uddhav Thackeray.
