A 20-member team led by CBI Inspector Narendra of Chandigarh raided Chandwas village of Badhra constituency of Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana late on Wednesday night. During this, the team caught a retired colonel red-handed while taking a bribe of about Rs 22 lakh. However, no information was given by the team and the team returned after taking action at Badhra police station.
According to the information, retired Colonel Amarjeet son of Shyodan Singh, resident of village Chandwas, was demanding bribe to keep the hospital operating in Rajgarh, Rajasthan in the ECHS panel. When the hospital operator complained about this, a 20-member CBI team from Chandigarh reached village Chandwas late night with Badhra police in about half a dozen vehicles. The CBI team caught the retired colonel red-handed with cash. The CBI team led by Inspector Narendra from Chandigarh took action at Badhra police station and returned with the retired colonel.
Rakesh Kumar, a resident of village Chandwas, said that a raid was conducted by the CBI team in his neighbor’s house late at night. During this time, the team did not treat the family of retired Colonel Amarjeet well. However, the CBI team has taken the retired colonel with them.
It is being told that the CBI team took the retired colonel with them to Badhra police station at around 2.30 in the night. Then on Thursday morning he left for Panchkula. It is being told that the retired colonel has also been a member of the ECHS panel while he was in the army. Retired Colonel Amarjeet Sheoran, a resident of Chandwas, was currently posted in Rajgarh Sainik Canteen. According to sources, the retired colonel’s son is a lieutenant, while the son-in-law is an IPS of Uttar Pradesh cadre.
