Uttarakhand / Roorkee: Laddu Gopal’s idol stolen from temple in broad daylight, incident captured on CCTV

On Friday, in broad daylight, a cunning thief stole a brass idol of Laddu Gopal weighing about 31 kg from Shri Kanhaiya temple located in Behdeki village of Jhabreda police station area of Roorkee and escaped. This entire incident of theft has been clearly recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the temple premises.

It can be seen in CCTV that the thief is taking the idol out of the temple wrapped in a cloth. The shocking thing is that the incident was carried out in broad daylight, due to which there is anger among the villagers. The Mahant of the temple, Krishnanand Giri, has given a complaint to the police about the matter. Along with this, he has demanded to disclose the matter as soon as possible and recover the idol.
The accused is being searched with the help of CCTV
Regarding the matter, SP Rural Shekhar Chandra Suyal said that the thief is being identified from the CCTV footage. Police teams are active. The miscreant will be arrested soon. There is an atmosphere of anger in the area since the incident. Angry villagers have demanded strict action from the police.
