Uttarakhand: Police encounter with the main accused in Rohit Negi murder case, shot in the leg

The main accused in the famous Premnagar Rohit Negi murder case came face to face with the police late on Wednesday night. An encounter took place between the police and the absconding accused in Barla-Purkaji area on the Muzaffarnagar-Mangalore border, in which both the accused were seriously injured by bullets.

According to the information, the main accused in the murder case, Mohammad Azhar Tyagi, son of Abdul Rab, is originally a resident of Thana Purkaji, District Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh). The second accused is Ayush Kumar alias Sikandar son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Malandi, Shamli (Uttar Pradesh).

The Dehradun police was continuously searching for the accused. When the police tried to stop them during the chase, both of them tried to run away and opened fire. In retaliation, both were hit by police bullets.

The injured were referred to AIIMS
In the encounter, one of the accused was shot in both legs and one hand. While the other was shot in both legs. Both are said to be in critical condition. They were taken to CHC Gurukul Narsan for primary treatment. From where they were later referred to AIIMS Rishikesh.

Since both the accused belong to a particular community, the police has alerted the entire border area. At present, heavy police force is deployed at the spot and the investigation of the case is going on.
