Heat wave in Uttarakhand, temperature crosses 38 degrees in Dehradun!

Uttarakhand is experiencing severe heat amidst dry weather. Bright sunshine is shining from the mountains to the plains and the mercury is rising rapidly. For the first time this month, the temperature in Doon has crossed 38 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, the maximum temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Roorkee on Monday. The heat is making the plains miserable. The Meteorological Department has predicted partial cloud cover in the hilly areas of the state today and light rain at some places. Most of the areas in the state may remain cloudy on Wednesday.
On Monday, bright sunshine was seen in Dehradun and its surrounding areas since morning. Due to which the heat increased. However, partial clouds also hovered at some places after noon. But, due to this humidity was felt. The mercury has been continuously rising for the last few days.
The highest temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Roorkee
On Monday, the temperature of Doon was recorded at 38.7 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees Celsius more than normal. There has been an increase in mercury in the mountainous regions as well. Along with this, the mountains are also heating up and the scorching heat is making people miserable throughout the day. In the Chardham and surrounding areas, there is bright sunshine along with partial clouds hovering in between.

Chances of partial cloudiness and light rain in the mountainous regions today
According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of partial cloudiness in some places in the state today. There may be light rain with thunder and lightning amid partial clouds in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. Along with this, there are chances of strong winds.
Due to the activation of western disturbance, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy showers and lightning in some parts of the state on Wednesday. There may be partial cloud cover on Chardham and Yatra routes as well.
