The second unofficial Test match between India A and England Lions ended in a draw. The match was played in Northampton. Tanush Kotian and Anshul Kamboj batted brilliantly in the match. India A declared their second innings at 417/7. England Lions had got a target of 439 runs to win. But they could score only 32/3 runs in 11 overs. After this both the captains agreed to draw the match.

Tanush Kotian could not score a century

Tanush Kotian remained unbeaten on 90 runs for India A in the second innings. He batted brilliantly till India A’s second innings was declared at 417/7. Kotian and Anshul Kamboj scored half-centuries. Kotian scored 90 runs in 108 balls. He hit 10 fours. He became the joint second-highest scorer for India A as a number 8 or below batsman. In the post-lunch session, Kotian and Kamboj made an unbroken partnership of 149 runs.

Anshul Kamboj scored his first first class half century. England Lions bowlers were finding it difficult to take wickets. So they had to resort to part-time bowlers. Both batsmen batted with patience and intelligence. They did not give any chance to England Lions bowlers. Captain Abhimanyu Ishwar declared the innings after the tea break. Because of this, Kotian could not score a century.

KL Rahul’s bat spoke in both innings

India A scored 348 runs in the first innings of the match. KL Rahul scored 116 runs. Dhruv Jurel also scored a half-century. In reply, England Lions scored 327 runs. Opener Tom Haynes scored 54 while Emilio Gaye scored 71 runs. Khalil Ahmed took four wickets from India’s side. In the second innings, apart from Kotian and Kamboj, KL Rahul and captain Abhimanyu Easwaran also scored fifties. Easwaran was out after scoring 80 runs.
