The government has taken a big decision before the Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand. The government has extended the tenure of administrators in most of the three-tier panchayats till July 31, 2025. The Panchayati Raj Department has also issued official orders in this regard.

Administrators deployed in all districts except Haridwar
Haridwar district has been kept out of this decision for the time being. New responsibilities of administrators have been fixed in the three-tier panchayats of all other districts. According to the order issued, the District Magistrate and District Magistrate have been appointed as administrators in the District Panchayats. The responsibility of the area panchayats has been handed over to the respective sub-district magistrates. At the same time, Assistant Development Officers have been made administrators in the Gram Panchayats.
