Hemkund Sahib Management Trust Chairman Narendrajit Singh Bindra on Tuesday met the newly appointed Head of Forest Department (HOFF) of Uttarakhand State, Sameer Sinha. During this, he congratulated Sinha for his appointment to the prestigious post. The meeting of the two focused on important issues related to the management and conservation of Uttarakhand’s world famous Valley of Flowers and the holy pilgrimage site of Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib.

The Valley of Flowers, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known for its unique biodiversity and rare Himalayan flowers. It attracts thousands of tourists and nature lovers every year. At the same time, Hemkund Sahib, located at an altitude of about 4,632 meters above sea level, is a major pilgrimage site of the Sikh community, where Guru Gobind Singh did penance. The site is famous all over the world for its spirituality and natural beauty.

Let us tell you that Sameer Sinha has contributed to the improvement of the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib Yatra while working in various positions in this field. In particular, his role in the formation of the Eco-Development Committee (EDC) in Bhyundar Valley empowered local communities and promoted environmental conservation. His vision and dedication have significantly helped in making pilgrimage and tourism more systematic and sustainable.

During the meeting, the Trust Chairman and Hoff Sinha discussed in detail the measures to manage the increasing tourist numbers in the region and reduce its environmental impact. They discussed topics such as alternative routes, better infrastructure and adoption of eco-friendly practices. So that the natural and spiritual heritage of the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib can be preserved. The objective of this meeting was to make tourism and pilgrimage more accessible and sustainable by further strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
