Uttarakhand: Administration on alert after landslide on Yamunotri Yatra route, team stopping pilgrims going to Dham at safe places

The yatra has been affected since the landslide on the Yamunotri footpath on Monday evening. The administration is stopping the devotees going towards the Dham.

On the instructions of Uttarkashi DM Prashant Arya, the pilgrims have been stopped on the Yamunotri footpath on June 24 for safety. The administration said that today heavy stones are being removed at the place of landslide, the road is being repaired, railings are being installed and other security related works are being done. The devotees have been stopped at safe places.
The yatra to Yamunotri Dham is expected to start again from June 25
The administration is rapidly cleaning the alternative footpath, which is likely to be completed by tonight. The administration has assured that if the weather and repair work remain favorable, the yatra will be started again from tomorrow i.e. June 25. At present, the devotees will be sent from Janki Chatti towards Yamunotri Dham.
