Uttarakhand: Big gift from the Centre to farmers, Rs 3800 crore given for farming

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Agriculture, Farmer Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday in New Delhi. During this, the CM requested the Union Minister for cooperation to expand and strengthen the agricultural schemes of the state.

Giving information after the meeting, the CM said that during this meeting, the Union Minister has given in-principle consent of about Rs 3800 crore for the agricultural schemes of Uttarakhand. The CM thanked the Union Minister for this and said that this cooperation would be a historic step towards making the agriculture of the state self-reliant and modern. The CM also sought cooperation from the Union Minister for the protection of crops from wild animals, establishment of Farm Machinery Bank, and effective operation of State Millet Mission.
CM made this demand to promote apple production in Uttarakhand
Chief Minister Dhami also appealed to Union Minister Shivraj Chouhan for help from the Center to strengthen the seed supply system. Also, the establishment of high quality nurseries, cold storage, sorting and grading units was also discussed to promote apple production in Uttarakhand. Along with this, the demand for a center of excellence for superfoods like kiwi, dragon fruit mission, mushroom and exotic vegetables was also raised. The CM also put forward the matter of setting up an agro tourism school in Pantnagar Agricultural University in front of the Union Minister.
