Uttaraakhand: Ankita Bhandari murder case: Suresh Rathore gets relief from the High Court; arrest stayed in all cases

Former MLA Suresh Rathore’s troubles have increased following the video released by Urmila Sanawar in connection with the Ankita Bhandari murder case. Four cases were registered against Suresh Rathore in Dehradun and Haridwar. To avoid arrest in all these cases, Suresh Rathore had filed a petition in the Uttarakhand High Court. The Uttarakhand High Court has granted relief to Suresh Rathore, staying his arrest in all four cases.

Cases were registered against former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore in Bahadrabad and Jhabrera in Haridwar, as well as in Nehru Colony and Dalanwala police stations in Dehradun. Suresh Rathore had filed a petition against these cases in the Uttarakhand High Court. In the hearing held yesterday, January 6, the Uttarakhand High Court granted interim relief in the cases registered at Bahadrabad and Dalanwala police stations. In today’s hearing, January 7, the High Court stayed the arrest of Suresh Rathore in all the cases registered against him. The case was heard by a single bench of Justice Ashish Naithani.

According to the case, former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore and Urmila Sanawar had cases registered against them at different police stations in Haridwar and Dehradun. Both are accused of damaging the image of a BJP leader by releasing audio and video on social media. Cases were registered against them for tarnishing the image of the BJP leader, and the complainant had demanded legal action against them.

It was in this connection that Suresh Rathore approached the Uttarakhand High Court. He had requested the High Court to stay his arrest in all the cases and to quash them. The High Court has stayed his arrest in all the cases.
