In a major action regarding the farmer suicide case, Udham Singh Nagar SSP Manikant Mishra has suspended and transferred several police officers for negligence.

SSP Manikant Mishra has suspended Station House Officer Kundan Singh Rautela and Sub-Inspector Prakash Bisht for gross negligence and indifference in the case of the deceased farmer Sukhwant Singh.

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Jitendra Kumar, ASI Somveer Singh, Head Constable Shekhar Bankoti, Constable Bhupendra Singh, Constable Dinesh Tiwari, Constable Suresh Chandra, Constable Yogesh Chaudhary, Constable Rajendra Giri, Constable Deepak Prasad, and Constable Sanjay Kumar have been transferred to the police lines.

Police officers accused of harassment

It is reported that Sukhwant Singh, a resident of Kashipur, made an emotional video before committing suicide. In the video, Sukhwant alleged that property dealers in the district had defrauded him of crores of rupees. He tried to file a complaint with the police, but several police officers, including the SSP, refused to listen to him. He also claimed that they mentally harassed him, which led him to take this drastic step.
