Something significant is expected to happen in Iran in the next few hours. There are speculations that the US may attack Iran. In the meantime, the Indian government has issued a new advisory for Indian citizens. The advisory, issued on Tuesday, states that all Indian citizens currently in Iran, whether students, pilgrims, businesspeople, or tourists, should leave the country as soon as possible. This advisory is a follow-up to the previous one issued on January 5th and is given in light of the changing circumstances in Iran. Indian citizens can leave Iran using available means, such as commercial flights.
The government has also reiterated that all Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) should exercise caution. They should stay away from protests or crowded areas. Indian citizens in Iran should remain in contact with the Indian Embassy and monitor local media for any new information.

All Indian citizens residing in Iran are also requested to keep all their travel and immigration documents, such as passports and IDs, readily available. They can contact the Indian Embassy for any assistance in this regard.

Indian citizens should register as soon as possible
All Indian citizens in Iran who have not yet registered with the Indian Embassy are requested to register as soon as possible. A link for registration has been provided and is also available on the embassy’s website. If an Indian citizen in Iran is unable to register due to internet problems, their family members in India can complete the registration on their behalf.
