Today, January 14th, on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, the gates of the Adi Badri temple in Chamoli district have been opened for devotees. The temple gates were opened with proper rituals and ceremonies. A large number of people are arriving here, and a huge crowd of devotees was seen for darshan (viewing of the deity).

This morning, Wednesday, at around 5:30 AM, the gates of Adi Badri Nath, the first of the Panch Badri shrines, were opened with proper rituals and chanting of mantras. The temple gates were opened by the chief priest, Chakradhar Thapliyal. A large number of devotees were present on this occasion, where they offered prayers and performed puja at the temple.

It is believed that the Adi Badri temple is the first abode of Lord Narayan. Worship is performed at Adi Badri before Badrinath.
