Uttarakhand: Unemployed nurses to march to the Chief Minister’s residence on January 19, intensifying their agitation demanding recruitment

Unemployed nurses, protesting for year-wise recruitment, will march to the Chief Minister’s residence on January 19. The unemployed nurses have taken this decision, alleging neglect by the government and administration.
The protest by unemployed nurses, under the banner of the Nursing Unity Forum, continued for the 40th day on Tuesday at Ekta Vihar. They expressed their displeasure at the government’s failure to initiate any dialogue so far.
The unemployed nurses warned that if talks are not initiated soon, the movement will be intensified. Naval Pundir said that a march to the Chief Minister’s residence will be held on January 19.
They demanded that the current nursing recruitment notification be immediately canceled and the portal closed. They also demanded that a new notification be issued for more than 2500 posts, in accordance with IPHS standards.
They further demanded that priority be given to Uttarakhand residents and that special age relaxation be granted to eligible candidates who have crossed the age limit. Vikas Pundir, Pravesh Rawat, Mukesh Ramola, Stuti, Preeti, Sonia, Sushma, Kuldeep, Bharti, and others were present on the occasion.
