The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) took a strict stance against illegal plotting and carried out a major operation in the Doiwala area on Friday. The authority’s enforcement team demolished illegal constructions on approximately 40 bighas of land.

This bulldozer action caused panic among illegal colonizers. According to MDDA officials, illegal plotting was being carried out without permission on approximately 30 bighas of land in the Nakat Bhatta area behind the BSF camp on Kurkawala Road. In addition, an illegal colony was being developed on about 8 to 10 bighas of land in the Jhabrawala area.

In both cases, notices had been issued to the concerned parties earlier, but due to their disregard for the rules, the demolition action was taken on Friday. During the operation, roads, boundary walls, and other constructions related to the plotting were demolished. MDDA Assistant Engineer Pramod Mehra, Junior Engineer Swati Kohli, and a large police force were present at the site.

MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari clearly stated that illegal plotting will not be tolerated in the authority’s jurisdiction under any circumstances. Colonies being developed without permission not only violate the law but also put ordinary citizens at risk of future legal and financial problems.

He appealed to the public to verify the legality of any land or plot with the MDDA before purchasing it. Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia stated that the action was carried out in accordance with due legal process. Those involved in illegal plotting had already been warned. Similar strict action will continue against those who do not comply with the rules.
