Under the banner of the Uttarakhand Nursing Unity Forum, nursing staff from across the state will march to the Chief Minister’s residence today. The nursing personnel, who have been protesting for a long time over their long-pending demands, have decided to perform a mass head-shaving ceremony today in protest against the government.

Nursing Staff Announce Mass Head-Shaving
The Nursing Unity Forum says that the government is continuously ignoring their demands, which has caused immense anger among the nursing staff. The protesting nurses allege that there is a lack of transparency in the recruitment process and that the future of young people is being jeopardized.

These are the Main Demands
The main demands include conducting nursing recruitment on a year-by-year basis. The nursing staff says that the examination-based recruitment process should be immediately canceled and vacancies should be filled annually. The forum claims that currently, there are more than 2500 vacant positions in the state, which should be filled in a phased manner.

The Uttarakhand Nursing Unity Forum has also demanded a ban on the recruitment of students from outside the state. They say that local candidates from the state should be given priority. The protesters have also demanded that the government grant special age relaxation to over-age candidates.

The nursing staff says that due to delays in the recruitment process, many eligible candidates have crossed the age limit, and they deserve justice. The Nursing Unity Forum has warned that if the government does not take concrete decisions on their demands soon, the agitation will be intensified, and the entire responsibility will rest with the government and administration.
