The police have arrested a young man in Bhimtal accused of exploiting Hindu women. It is alleged that the accused has also orchestrated the religious conversion of several young women in the region.

It is worth noting that recently in Bhimtal, locals had staged a protest by surrounding the police station regarding the arrest of Mohammad Yunus. The allegation against him was that he would conceal his true identity to entrap Hindu women. Furthermore, he subjected them to physical, mental, and financial exploitation while pressuring them to convert.
Accused Has Already Converted Several Women
Reports indicate that the accused has, to date, successfully orchestrated the conversion of numerous young women. The accused had been absconding in an attempt to evade arrest. Finally, on Thursday, the accused was taken into custody. According to the police, the young man would conceal his identity and contact women using various aliases.
How the Youth Lured Women with False Promises of Love
It is reported that the accused would gain the trust of young women through activities such as photo and video shoots, trekking, and music sessions. Subsequently, he would ensnare them with false promises of love. SSP Manjunath TC has made it clear that such activities involving religious conversion will not be tolerated in the Nainital district. Strict action will be taken against anyone found engaging in such acts.
