f
Following two internal surveys conducted by the state BJP in Uttarakhand—and after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh indirectly boosted the morale of party workers—preparations for the three-day visit of National President Nitin Naveen have now intensified. During this visit, extensive deliberations will be held regarding the potential candidates vying for victory across all 70 assembly constituencies.
The arrival of the National President holds significant importance for the state BJP from the perspective of upcoming electoral preparations. This time, the BJP intends to deliberate on each individual seat well in advance. Decisions will be made regarding whether to renominate sitting MLAs or to field new, strong contenders. For certain seats, the possibility of granting a BJP ticket to strong candidates currently belonging to other political parties will also be explored. National President Nitin Naveen is scheduled to spend three days deliberating on all these possibilities.
Core Committee Members—Including the Chief Minister, Former Chief Ministers, and MPs—Will Participate
State President Mahendra Bhatt stated that during this visit by the National President—which is taking place in the wake of the election results in five states—meetings will be held with representatives ranging from the Mandal (block) level up to the state leadership and cabinet ministers within the government. During this time, he will chair a meeting of the State Core Group at the party headquarters located on Balbir Road. This meeting will be attended by members of the Core Committee, including the Chief Minister, former Chief Ministers, and Members of Parliament (MPs).
Detailed discussions will be held regarding the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections. The state organizational wing will present a comprehensive report outlining the party’s preparations on an assembly-constituency basis, while also providing an overview of the current political landscape in the state. Discussions will cover the impact of the Central and State governments’ initiatives on the public, the performance of sitting MLAs, and specific issues pertinent to various regions.
A meeting of party office bearers will also be convened. This session will involve a review of organizational programs, as well as the formulation of necessary strategic recommendations specifically aimed at the 2027 assembly elections. In addition to meeting with senior party workers, the National President will also assess the party’s ground-level preparedness by holding separate meetings with office bearers at both the district and Mandal levels.
