The audacity of criminals in Haridwar appears to be growing unchecked. On Sunday, miscreants opened fire in broad daylight within a bustling market, creating an atmosphere of chaos and panic at the scene.
Shots Fired in Crowded Haridwar Market
The incident occurred on Sunday within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines Kotwali area in Roorkee. According to reports, at 9:20 AM, miscreants opened fire in broad daylight amidst the crowded market in Roorkee. It is alleged that a group of bullies fired upon two youths near the Jama Masjid following a minor dispute. After carrying out the attack, the bike-borne miscreants fled the scene.
Shots Fired Over a Petty Dispute
It is reported that four miscreants were riding on the motorcycle involved. According to the information received so far, a dispute had arisen between some youths and a mason. The four bike-borne bullies first physically assaulted two masons, following which they fired multiple shots in succession right there in the market. Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately rushed to the spot.
Search for Miscreants Underway
This incident in the market was captured on CCTV cameras installed nearby. The police have currently launched a search for the miscreants using the available CCTV footage. Fortunately, despite the indiscriminate firing in a crowded open market, no untoward incident resulting in serious injury or loss of life occurred.
