On Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off four state-of-the-art ambulances from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. Provided by HDFC Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, these ambulances have been donated with the objective of strengthening healthcare services in the remote and hilly regions of the state.

In the first phase, these ambulances will provide services in the districts of Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh, and Rudraprayag. These vehicles are equipped with modern medical facilities and emergency equipment to ensure that patients in need receive timely medical treatment.

Chief Minister Dhami stated that the timely availability of healthcare services in hilly and remote areas is of paramount importance. He remarked that the cooperation of private institutions in the public interest serves as an excellent example of social responsibility, and affirmed that the state government is continuously striving to extend superior healthcare facilities to the last person standing in the queue.

Appreciating this initiative by HDFC Bank, CM Dhami noted that such services would prove immensely useful during disaster situations, major religious congregations, and in inaccessible terrains. He also expressed his hope that additional ambulances would be provided under the CSR framework in the future for other hilly districts and for the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh Mela.

According to bank officials, the bank will also arrange for a doctor, a nurse, an attendant, and a driver for each ambulance for the next three years. Furthermore, in the future, these ambulances will also be utilized for religious events and disaster management operations.
