Regarding the controversy involving the Chief Election Commissioner, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that every office follows a set procedure for its operations. Officials may record their comments on a report or proposal, but the final decision is reached collectively through the established process. He remarked that the matter concerning the Chief Election Commissioner is being unnecessarily politicized.

While in Haldwani, the Chief Minister explained that even within the Secretariat, officials provide their opinions and comments on files or reports, after which a final decision is taken following the prescribed procedure. He emphasized that the decision deemed most appropriate in the public interest is the one that is ultimately adopted.

The Chief Minister was also asked about the speculation surrounding former Chief Minister Harish Rawat potentially contesting the Assembly elections from Haridwar. In response, Dhami described Harish Rawat as a respected leader, noting that his entire life has been dedicated to society. The Chief Minister added that he prays to God for Harish Rawat’s good health and a long life.
