Delhi: Accident or cruelty like Nirbhaya? Questions are being raised on the police’s theory on Delhi’s Sultanpuri case

A painful case has come to light in Delhi’s Sultanpuri on Sunday. Here in Kanjhawala there was a stir after the dead body of a girl was found naked. When the police reached the spot, many parts of the body were mutilated. When the police investigated, the police also found a scooty lying at a short distance from the spot, which was in an accident. On the basis of Scooty’s number, the identity of the girl was traced. Later the police recovered the car and arrested all the 5 accused by late evening of 1st January.

It is alleged that 5 youths in a car hit a girl, then dragged her on the road for 4 km, due to which she died. The matter is of Sultanpuri-Kanjhawala area. However, questions are being raised on this theory of the police. The family of the deceased girl has also raised questions on the police action. He has compared this incident with the Nirbhaya case of Delhi. Police arrested all the accused and got their alcohol test done. Police say that the situation will be clear after its report comes. At the same time, questions are being raised on the action of the police on social media as well. Users claim that the girl was first raped and then murdered.

Passenger gave information to the police

In fact, on January 1, at around 3.24 am, Delhi Police station Kanjhawala received a call. A passer-by had informed about the dead body hanging behind the car. Passenger told that a gray colored Baleno vehicle which is going towards Qutubgarh, has a dead body tied in it, which is hanging down. After this, on the basis of the call, the police immediately alerted the team deployed in the surrounding areas and started searching for the car. After this, another call came to the police after 4 o’clock. It was told that the body of a girl was found in Kanjhawala. The police recovered the body from there. Police has sent the dead body to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for postmortem.

What is the claim of the police?

Deputy Police Commissioner (Outer) Harendra Kumar Singh told that the victim’s leg got stuck in one of the wheels of the car and she was dragged for about four kilometers. He told that in this case, a case has been registered against Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishna, Mithun and Manoj Mittal under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.

According to the police, Deepak is the driver, while the accused Amit gets the SBI card made. Whereas, Mithur works as a hair dresser in Krishna CP. While Mittal works as a food dealer. Sources claim that the accused did not know that the victim was trapped in their car. When they came to know that someone was trapped in their car, they took out the body and fled. According to the police, the victim woman used to work part time in marriage and other events. When she was returning from one such program, she met with an accident.

Police said – rape did not happen

The police claim that the victim was not raped. Police said that false claims of rape and murder are being made against the victim. He told that when the police tracked the car, it came to know from its owner that our car had met with a terrible accident in Sultanpuri area. In which the victim, who is a 20-year-old woman, was dragged along with the car. Later, when the car riders realized that the woman had died. This is not a case of murder or rape. It is a matter of serious accident. 5 boys have been arrested.

The family is a resident of Aman Vihar

The victim’s family is a resident of Aman Vihar. Her mother told that the daughter was the only earner in the house. Father passed away 8 years back. There are two more sisters in the house. There are also two younger brothers. An elder sister is married. On December 31 at around 6 pm, his daughter had left the house saying that she had some work for the party (event company). At 9 o’clock in the night, the daughter called home and said that there is night work, so now she will be able to come only till morning. The work is not over yet. He called at 10 pm, but was going off, due to which contact could not be made.

This is not an accident, a case similar to Nirbhaya – family

The maternal uncle of the deceased girl said that I do not agree with the action of the police. The DCP had said that the accused boys had not done anything wrong. Didn’t do anything wrong after such a big accident? This case is similar to Nirbhaya. We can say 100 percent that wrong has happened with the daughter. The scooty has been found somewhere and the body has been recovered from some other place. There will be a delay in getting the postmortem report. Meanwhile, there may be laxity in action.

Police did not show interest – claims eyewitness

An eyewitness of this accident has come forward. A young man named Deepak has claimed that it was he who informed the police about the body hanging behind the car. After the accident, he kept in touch with the police till 5 in the morning, no one came to the spot. Deepak said that he followed the Baleno car till Begumpur. It is alleged that the police present in the PCR van did not respond and showed no interest in the case. Deepak claims that the car kept running here and there till the body got tangled. After the dead body fell, the accused fled from the spot. According to the eyewitness, the car was in normal speed and it seemed that he was conscious. Deepak said that he was waiting for the delivery of milk at around 3.15 pm when he saw a car coming. There was a loud noise coming from the rear wheels.
