CM Dhami inaugurated the annual convention of Indian Forest Service Association, Uttarakhand

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the annual convention of Indian Forest Service Association, Uttarakhand at Manthan Auditorium, Rajpur Road on Saturday. The Chief Minister expressed the hope that in this session, several topics related to the Forest Department will be discussed by the senior officers of the Forest Department and there will be deliberations to solve various problems related to the state’s forests and environment. He said that such events provide an opportunity to the officers to understand each other, which also speeds up the pace of work. The Chief Minister said that in 2025 Uttarakhand will celebrate the silver jubilee of the state’s establishment. Till then, what contribution can be made by the Forest Department for the development of the state, it has to move forward by making a target.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that we have to move forward by creating coordination between ecology and economy. Along with development works, we have to move ahead with environmental protection. Along with the work of environmental protection, the Forest Department has a big responsibility to make people aware about it. The Chief Minister said that in the Chintan Shivir held at Mussoorie, the Forest Department was asked to prepare a comprehensive action plan to prevent damage to crops from monkeys and other wild animals in the state. He expressed hope that the department would be making rapid efforts in this direction. He said that special attention should be paid to connecting people’s livelihood through forests. There is a need for effective efforts towards reducing human-wildlife conflict, cooperation from common people and strengthening of forest panchayats to prevent incidents of forest fire. He said that Uttarakhand is a state of biodiversity. Attention should also be paid towards increasing revenue from forest estates in the state.
Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal said that Uttarakhand is a state rich in forest wealth. We will have to make continuous efforts in this direction as to how we can increase the livelihood of the people by making good use of our forest resources. Environmental balance is the biggest concern of the world. The forest department will have to play an important role in working towards environmental protection and creating awareness among the people. He said that the forest area has increased in the state, for this he also appreciated the efforts of the Forest Department. He said that for the conservation of forests and environment, we have to link them with the livelihood of the people.
In this session of the Forest Department, what efforts can be made by the Forest Department in the direction of a strong Uttarakhand, the roadmap of the Forest Department for the development of the state, livelihood generation through forestry sector, human and wildlife conflict reduction, revenue from carbon financing And income generation and other important topics related to the state are being discussed. On this occasion, Chief Conservator of Forests Vinod Kumar Singhal, Chief Conservator of Forests Wildlife Dr. Sameer Sinha, Chief Conservator of Forests Van Panchayat Jyotsna Sitling, President of IFS Association Kapil Lal and senior officers of Indian Forest Service Association, Uttarakhand were present.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the annual calendar Namami Devbhoomi ‘Sankalp Naye Uttarakhand Ka’ of Information and Public Relations Department, Uttarakhand at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office on Saturday. Through this annual calendar, information about major religious places, tourist places, crafts, paintings, folk art and mythological temples of Uttarakhand has been given through photographs. In view of public awareness, information about women helpline number 1090, Kisan call center number 1551, CM helpline number 1905, child helpline number 1098, Ayushman Uttarakhand helpline number 104 and disaster call center number 1070 has also been given in this annual calendar.
