According to Secretary- Soldier Welfare Dipendra Chowdhary, along with the soldiers who received the Veerta Chakra, the heroine of the soldier who received the Veerta Chakra will also get the facility of free travel in roadways buses. Whatever the cost of free travel will be reimbursed by the Sainik Welfare Department Roadways. At present, the number of military officers and soldiers who have received the Virat Chakra in the state is more than 250.
Traveling on their roadways is estimated to cost a maximum of Rs 10 lakh annually. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami had made this announcement on the occasion of Vijay Diwas last year. After this, the cabinet had taken this decision as per the announcement of the Chief Minister.
