In village Gopi of Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana state late last night, fed up with their son and wife, an elderly couple committed suicide by swallowing poison. Before consuming poison, the elderly couple wrote a suicide note and informed the dial 112 police. After this, the police reached the couple for treatment at Badhda’s private hospital, where they handed over a pre-written suicide note to the police. Police seized the suicide note, after which the elderly couple died. The police took the body into custody and got the post-mortem done at the government hospital in Dadri.

The deceased elderly couple has written in the suicide note that I, Jagdish Chandra Arya, tell you my sorrow, my sons have property worth 30 crores in Badhda but they do not have two breads to give me. I lived with my younger son until he died six years ago. Some days his wife gave him bread but later he started doing wrong business and took my nephew with him. When I opposed this, they did not like it because both of them could not do wrong while I was there, so they beat me up and threw me out of the house. I stayed in the orphanage for two years and when I came again, they threw me out, locked the house, during this time my wife got paralyzed and we started living with another son. Now they also refused to keep it and started giving me roti made of stale flour and curd for two days, for how many days this sweet poison would last, so I ate sulfas tablet and the cause of my death was my two daughters-in-law, one son and one nephew. (The names of all four are written in the suicide note). As much oppression these four have done on me, any child should be punished by their parents, so I request the listeners that this much oppression should not be done on the parents and the government and the society should punish them, only then my soul will find peace. I have two FDs in the bank and a shop in Badhda, that should be given to Arya Samaj Badhda.

Virendra, the son of the deceased elderly couple, said that his father used to be upset due to his mother being paralyzed, due to which he consumed poison last night and died. DCP Virendra Singh said that on the basis of the suicide note of the deceased couple, a case has been registered against four people. Police is investigating further.
