Corona cases tripled in 1 week, positivity rate crossed 10%, the situation started to scare

Even though the situation in Delhi has not worsened due to Corona, but the manner in which the cases are increasing here, it is raising concern. For the last few days, the cases of Corona have remained close to 300 in Delhi. For the last several days, positivity in Delhi The rate is being recorded more than 10 % CM Arvind Kejriwal held an important meeting today at 12 noon regarding this.
CM Kejriwal held a press conference after the meeting. He said that Delhiites have no need to be afraid of Corona. We are taking all the security measures. 100 percent genome sequencing is being done. 48% cases of XBB1.16 variant are coming up. He said that this variant is spreading very fast but it is not serious. Our Kovid is fully prepared to deal with the cases.
He said that 7986 beds are ready, this includes oxygen and ICU beds. He said that we have the capacity to conduct 4000 tests in government labs and 1 lakh tests in private ones. He told that on April 10 and 11, mock drill will be done in government and private hospitals. Random testing of 2% passengers will be done at the airport. All government hospitals have been asked to reserve isolation wards. He appealed that those who have viral and respiratory diseases must wear masks and follow the guidelines of the Center.
Corona’s trend was like this in a week
In 24 hours on March 30, 295 new cases have been reported in Delhi. A total of 2363 tests were done during this period. According to the report, the positivity rate has been recorded at 12.48% during this period. With this, the number of active cases has increased to 932 in the city. For the first time after September, 300 cases of corona have been found in Delhi. Cases have increased 3 times in the last 1 week. Around 100 cases were being received everyday in the capital a week ago. On March 29, 300 patients were found infected. Two patients died. The infection rate was recorded at 13.89 percent.
Similarly, on March 28, 214 cases were reported and the infection rate was 11.82 percent, on March 27, 115 new cases were reported, while the infection rate was 7.45 percent. On March 26, 153 new cases came. Earlier on March 25, 139 cases were reported with an infection rate of 4.98 percent. On March 24, 152 cases were reported and the infection rate was 6.66 percent. Similarly, on March 23, 117 cases were registered with an infection rate of 4.95 percent.
Health minister advised to wear mask
While the case escalated, the Delhi government claimed to deal with any situation. Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has advised people to wear masks when they show symptoms of corona, influenza or flu. Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the cases of corona are increasing, but there is no need to panic. He told that the positivity rate is high due to the small number of tests.
He says, “We have been checking sewage in Delhi for the last two-three weeks. We are getting symptoms of corona. Early detection is essential to contain the spread of the virus. We are taking steps to detect any possible outbreak.” Leaving no stone unturned in the efforts.
What about travelers coming from abroad
The health minister has said that only the protocol of the central government will be followed for international flights coming to Delhi. Tests are conducted for 2 percent random passengers, although their results are very less. At present, no proposal has been placed in the meeting to make wearing masks mandatory. The Health Department will also prepare a report on the steps being taken to deal with the corona virus in the rest of the state and the report will be submitted to the Chief Minister.
Virus spread pattern in Delhi, Mumbai
Saurabh Bhardwaj said that there is a pattern of virus spread in metros like Mumbai and Delhi. Cases in Delhi often increase within weeks of a spurt in Covid cases in Maharashtra. He appealed to the citizens to follow the Covid-19 guidelines and protocols to prevent the virus from spreading. He said that whenever the trend of corona comes, cases start increasing in Delhi as well, in such a situation advisory has been sent to hospitals and health centers.
Mock drill conducted in Delhi hospitals
Mock drill was done in government hospitals on March 26 in Delhi amid increasing cases of corona. This mock drill was done at Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital, Satyawadi Raja Harishchandra Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. In this, it was shown that if a patient is brought to the hospital, then how much time can be taken to take him to the room. According to Dr. Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of LNJP, a red corridor has been made to take patients to the ICU. 450 beds have been reserved for corona patients in the hospital.
Cases are increasing due to which variant
According to Dr. Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS, cases are increasing in Delhi due to XBB.1.16. Although he said that even though the cases are increasing, there is no need to fear, because it is not causing serious illness, nor is the number of deaths increasing. The Delhi government has also said that the increase in the corona infection rate in Delhi cannot be compared with the previous wave. This variant is not serious.
