Uttar Pradesh: Stones were causing abdominal pain, doctor removed the woman’s uterus, ultrasound revealed

A major negligence of a nursing home in Cholapur police station area has come to light. Two years ago, a woman suffering from stomach stones had to undergo surgery. It is alleged that her uterus was removed during the operation. When the woman felt pain, she went for an ultrasound. She was surprised to hear about a hysterectomy here. The husband has lodged a complaint with the CMO office and Cholapur police station.
Usha Maurya, wife of Govind Maurya, a resident of Bela village in Cholapur police station area, contacted Asha of the village in May 2020 when she felt stomach pain. According to her husband, Asha took her to a private hospital in Cholapur. The doctor and the operator fixed the day of the operation saying that the woman had gallstones. Husband Govind Maurya said that in May 2020, he underwent surgery on his wife. She then went back to the same hospital for pain and was sent home with painkillers. The husband said that the pain happened again the other day and he went to other hospitals in the district and found that his wife still had stones in her stomach. The report that came in the ultrasound showed that not only had the stone been operated on but the uterus had been removed. He managed a second operation.
They have sent a letter to CMO Varanasi and police station in-charge Cholapur demanding action. Police station in-charge Rajesh Tripathi said an investigation was being conducted on the basis of the complaint of Govind Maurya.
