Bailey bridge connecting China border on Joshimath-Malari-Niti Highway broken, Army contact cut

The 180-feet long Bailey Bridge built near ITBP Camp Burans on the Joshimath-Malari-Niti Highway, strategically important and connecting the China border, suddenly broke down on Sunday. According to the information, the bridge broke when a truck full of debris was passing through it. The driver barely saved his life by jumping out of the truck.
Now the movement of ITBP and Army in the China border area has been disrupted due to the collapse of the Bailey Bridge. Along with this, the movement of villagers of Kailashpur, Mehargaon, Farkiya, Bampa, Gamshali and Niti villages in the border area has also come to a standstill. According to the Border Roads Organisation, the work of building the Bailey Bridge will start from Monday.
